Died July 16, 2001, aged 87; survived by his wife, Marion, and 4 children. His son, Dr. Michael McNeely, observed: “He introduced some of the first laboratory automation in Canada, occasionally building some of the components himself. His dry wit was legendary. He performed quiet acts of kindness and charity, loved sailing with his family in the Gulf Islands, and gardening.
