Died May 22, 2007, aged 74. “Dr. Ahsan practised in Winnipeg with a special interest in joint replacement. The well-being of his patients meant everything to him and he continually kept abreast of the newest and best techniques in his profession. He served on the active staff of St. Boniface and Concordia Hospitals. Until recently, he was a member of the teaching staff at the University of Manitoba's department of orthopedic surgery. Amir enjoyed clinical teaching and took great pride in the medical students who attended his clinics. He also volunteered his time and skill to CARE Medico in developing countries. Amir was an enthusiastic indoor and outdoor gardener. He is survived by his wife, Airdrie, a son, Jamil, and a daughter, Dr. Maryam Ahsan.” **Awad,** George Anis, Toronto; American University of Beirut, Lebanon, 1968, psychiatry. Died Apr. 25, 2007, aged 65. **Bodenstab,** Theodor Paul, Tisdale, Sask.; University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa, 1966. Died May 4, 2007, aged 64. “Dr. Bodenstab leaves to mourn his loving wife, Annchen, and 3 sons, Craig (Jenny), Wayne (Raschelle) and Sean (Natalie).” **Clokie,** John Kenneth Alexis, West Vancouver; University of Manitoba, 1948, family medicine. Died May 22, 2007, aged 82. **Coulter,** Stuart Glenn, East York, Ont.; Queen's University, 1945. Died May 25, 2007, aged 86. **DiCiommo,** David Patrick, Ancaster, Ont.; University of Toronto, 2003. Died Apr. 3, 2007, aged 37. “Dr. DiCiommo conducted research in the area of children's eye cancer and his genetic research in this area was highly published. His review on retinoblastoma was to become the most cited in the scientific literature and his work continues to be used by scientists worldwide, including Nobel Laureates. In 2002, David won the highly coveted World Chorefus Foundation prize for research in the field of nano-technology. It was always his hope and dream to make a difference with his scientific accomplishments. Fondly remembered and loved by his husband, David, his parents, Patricia and Joseph, and his brother, John (Jessica).” **Gasmann,** Henry Christian Egeberg, Deep River, Ont.; Queen's University, 1956. Died May 21, 2007, aged 79. **Halket,** Patrick James, Belleville, Ont.; University of Glasgow, Scotland, 1950. Died Apr. 1, 2007, aged 80. **Halliwell,** David, Victoria; University of Manitoba, 1946. Died May 6, 2007, aged 84. “Dr. Halliwell had a thriving general practice in Kenora, Ont., until 1966 when he returned to the University of Manitoba to study ophthalmology, graduating in 1969. He practised ophthalmolgy in Victoria until his retirement in 1987. David was predeceased by his wife, Betty, and is survived by 4 children and 5 grandchildren.” **Hyatt,** Blake Wilton, Lindsay, Ont.; University of Toronto, 1951, general pathology. Died May 17, 2007, aged 80. **Kumpula,** Vernon Walter; University of Alberta, 1974, general surgery. Died May 20, 2007, aged 58. **Levasseur,** Charles-Auguste, Bécancour, Que.; Université Laval, 1944. Died May 12, 2007, aged 89. **Levin,** Solomon, Edmonton; University of Melbourne, Australia, 1960, psychiatry. Died May 25, 2007, aged 72. **McIlveen,** Charles Elmer, Oshawa, Ont.; Queen's University, 1946. Died May 4, 2007, aged 87. **Miller,** Donald Mallory, Campbell River, BC; University of Alberta, 1951. Died May 6, 2007, aged 84. “Dr. Miller served in the Royal Canadian Air Force in England and Canada during World War II. He began practising medicine in Courtenay, BC, in 1952 and raised his 4 children there. Don led a very active life, working, playing tennis and building the family cabin. In the late 1970s he left the Comox Valley for several years and worked in emergency clinics in the United States. In 1984 Don retired to Campbell River, BC, and he and his wife spent their time travelling, watching sports and enjoying family. He is deeply mourned by his wife, Kathleen, and his 4 children, Beth (Dennis), Jean (Dennis), Bob (Gail) and Terry (Deb).” **Oliva,** Luis A., Montréal; Universidad Autonoma de Santo, Dominican Republic, 1955, anatomical pathology. Died May 5, 2007, aged 76. **Rado,** Ivan Peter, Hamilton, Ont.; Ludwig Maximulians Universitaet, Germany, 1951, anesthesia. Died May 25, 2007, aged 80. “Dr. Rado was an anesthesiologist at St. Joseph's Hospital for over 40 years. He also practised as a family physician at the Wilson Medical Clinic until the onset of his illness. His kindness, generosity, intellect and sense of humour will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Ivan was the beloved husband of Eva for 51 years and the loving father of Andrea and friend David.” **Smith,** Donald Edward, Oshawa, Ont.; McGill University, 1950, internal medicine. Died Feb. 7, 2007, aged 85. **Wilson,** Thomas Charles, Edmonton; Queen's University, 1937, otolaryngology. Died May 14, 2007, aged 97.
