Chambers, Margaret Cleveland, North York, Ontario; University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Manitoba, 1943, anesthesiology. Died Nov. 11, 2007, aged 88.
Cronhelm, Claude Henry, Langley, British Columbia; Queen's University, Belfast, Northern Ireland, 1957, obstetrics and gynecology. Died Nov. 30, 2007, aged 73. One of the highlights of Dr. Cronhelm's life was the year he took off with his young family to sail to Fiji. “He was highly regarded as a clear-thinking and speaking person with great technical skill and bedside manner. He died the way he lived, with courage and dignity.” He is survived by his wife, Sandra, children, Peter, Jackie and Julie, and 5 grandchildren.

Cupples, James F. Brodie, Victoria, British Columbia; McGill University, Montréal, Quebec, 1951. Died Nov. 14, 2007, aged 81.
Datta, Mrinal Kanti, Biggar, Saskatchewan; University of Calcutta, Kolkata, India. Died Nov. 22, 2007, aged 75.
Gibson, Edward Slade, Mount Hope, Ontario; University of Toronto, Toronto, Ontario, 1954. Died Nov. 10, 2007, aged 79. Dr. Gibson was the first president of the Occupational and Environmental Medical Association of Canada and an honorary fellow of the Association of Canadian Ergonomists. In his research as a clinical professor in the Department of Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics at McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, he was the first to identify the association between steel foundry work and lung cancer. He conducted research in the areas of hearing loss, low back pain, cardiovascular disease, hypertension and sleep disorders. Previously, he was a flight surgeon in the Royal Canadian Air Force and in the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps, and commanding officer of 12 Medical Company, Kitchener, Ontario, and 16 Medical Company, Hamilton, Ontario. Dr. Gibson is predeceased by his wife Jean Schroeder (mother of his 3 sons) and survived by his wife, Audrey, sons, Colonel Neil, Chris and Brian, and stepchildren, Susan O'Brien and Warren Wright.

McGillivray, Duncan Wray, Burlington, Ontario; University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario, 1954, ophthalmology. Died Nov. 21, 2007, aged 78. Dr. McGillivray is survived by his wife, Faye, children, Janis, Judy, Dan and Trish, and 8 grandchildren.

Patel, Rajni, London, Ontario; Royal College of Surgeons, Dublin, Ireland, 1969. Died Nov. 20, 2007, aged 64. Dr. Patel was predeceased by his wife Frances, and is survived by his sons, Anil and Ashwin, daughters, Alisha and Alexis, and granddaughter Hannah.
Rajic, Dimitrije Slavko, London, Ontario; Universität Graz, Graz, Austria, 1949, diagnostic radiology. Died Nov. 19, 2007, aged 85. Dr. Rajic was a professor emeritus at the University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario. He is survived by his wife, Hertha.
Silver, Stephen Stanley, Nepean, Ontario; University of Toronto, Toronto, Ontario, 1971, anatomical pathology. Died Nov. 14, 2007, aged 62.
Smith, Philip Edmund, Mount Brydges, Ontario; University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario, 1952, otolaryngology. Died Nov. 24, 2007, aged 83.
Stott, Nelson, Wright, Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia; Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, 1953. Died Nov. 16, 2007, aged 88. Dr. Stott “was a wireless radio operator with the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II. He touched the lives of many in East Port, Maine and Nova Scotia, where he was a general practitioner.” He is survived by his wife, Emily, children, Wayne and Wendy, and stepdaughters, Pamela, Carla, Cynthia and Peggy.
