Colleague Charles Dyson commented: “He loved music, and their home often resounded with a duet of Chappie on the saxophone and Beanie at the piano. He had many interests, including pursuit of the wily trout, and he was frequently called upon to adjudicate at philatelic competitions. Truly, a man for all seasons.”
