Died Mar. 6, 2004, aged 71; survived by 2 children and their mother, Gail. Colleague Joseph Stratford wrote, “His forte was the compassion and skill devoted to all his patients and their families. His contributions to the M.G.H. Trauma Program were monumental.”

His wife said, “He traveled extensively in the North, doing biological work for various governmental and university departments.”
