Cameron, Michael Paul, Burlington, Ont.; Queen's University, 1992, family medicine. Died Mar. 14, 2007, aged 55.
Coates, Donald Blair, North Vancouver; University of Toronto, 1954, psychiatry. Died Mar. 6, 2007, aged 78. “Winner of the Gold Medal in psychiatry, Dr. Coates was awarded a McLaughlin Fellowship, which allowed him to take his young family to England for a year of study. He returned to Toronto in 1962 and became director of the adult outpatient department of the Toronto Psychiatric Hospital. He joined the senior clinical staff and became director of the community studies section of the newly formed Clark Institute of Psychiatry. In 1970 Don moved to Vancouver where he became an associate professor at the University of British Columbia, with a continued focus on community and social psychiatry and community mental health research. He was director of the first community mental health team in Vancouver in 1972. This was the vanguard of an innovative community mental health care system that has proven effective for Greater Vancouver, and is a model for large cities.”

Grehan, John Fergus, St. Catharines, Ont.; National University of Ireland, Ireland, 1944. Died Feb. 28, 2007, aged 87.
Hill, Mary Margaret Gastle, Forest, Ont.; University of Western Ontario, 1939. Died Mar. 12, 2007, aged 92. “After graduating from the University of Western Ontario medical school as 1 of only 4 women in her class, Dr. Hill specialized in anesthesia. She and her husband, Dr. Maurice Hill, practised medicine in Montréal, Sarnia and Guelph, Ont., until her retirement in 1986. She was medical director of the Women's Benefit Insurance Company of Port Huron, Mich., for 30 years and later assisted family physician practices in Grand Bend, Zurich and Stratford, Ont. Margaret thoroughly enjoyed her retirement years at her Lake Huron property. She was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Maurice Hill and mother of the late Maureen and husband Joe, Jim and Heather, and Robert and Barbara.”

Died Feb. 23, 2007, aged 74. “Gavin practised in California, the Pacific Islands of Micronesia and in Duncan, BC, from 1975 until his retirement in 1998. He is survived by his wife, Beverley, and children, Stephen, John, Ned and Anne.”
